Tier one contractor Skanska UK has promoted Dan Williams to executive vice-president of its Building Services arm as part of a broader reshuffle of its executive management team.
Williams, who joined Skanska in 2001 as a student engineer, will now take charge of the firm’s mechanical and electrical engineering business, Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil.
He was appointed managing director of the division in 2023 and will report to UK president and chief executive Katy Dowding in his new role, which takes effect immediately.
The Building Services unit employs around 1,200 people—roughly a third of Skanska’s UK headcount—and operates across sectors including defence, healthcare, education, commercial and local authorities.
Dowding said: “Dan’s deep knowledge and strong relationships with customers in MEP will bring valuable insight to our executive management team.”
The leadership changes support Skanska’s growth plans in the M&E market.
Separately, UK chief financial officer Meliha Duymaz will now also oversee the contractor’s work on the HS2 high-speed rail programme.
Adam McDonald, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, has assumed interim executive leadership of Skanska’s infrastructure operations in addition to his existing responsibilities.
He will continue to oversee Cementation Skanska, led by managing director Andy Entwistle.
McDonald replaces Andrew English, who is leaving Skanska.
In the longer term, infrastructure operations and Cementation Skanska will be led by executive vice-president Terry Muckian.
Muckian currently heads Skanska’s Building division and previously led the firm’s Cementation and Utilities businesses.
The phased handover is intended to minimise disruption as the company searches for Muckian’s successor.
