Willmott Dixon has secured a £50m contract from the House of Commons to deliver a major mechanical and electrical overhaul at Portcullis House.
The contractor was awarded the works, which are due to run until 2029, following a call-off from a framework agreement.
The project, known as the Portcullis House M&E Lifecycle Replacement, covers the replacement of life-expired mechanical, electrical and public health systems throughout the Westminster building.
Systems to be upgraded include heating, cooling, water, fire and ventilation installations.
Willmott Dixon Construction is responsible for developing the design to RIBA Stage 4.
The scheme is being delivered under a two-stage arrangement incorporating early contractor involvement (ECI).
Stage one, covering ECI services, is valued at £5.9m.
A partial tendered value of £18.8m has been agreed for stage two works.
The full stage two value will be confirmed once the design is complete at the end of stage one.
The total contract value is estimated at between £40m and £50m, with the award notice listing a final value of £50m.
Portcullis House, which accommodates MPs and their staff, forms part of the parliamentary estate.
The M&E replacement forms part of ongoing lifecycle and maintenance works across the estate, which has faced increasing scrutiny over the condition of its building services and wider infrastructure.
