Construction News has revamped its search engine with a range of improvements including AI summaries of queries at the top of the results page.

Following the overhaul of search, CN readers can now find the information they are after with ease.

Taking a leaf out of the book of search giants such as Google, CN’s hybrid search results will contain an AI summary of search terms at the top of the results page.

CN editor Colin Marrs said: “We currently have 180,000 articles on our website, stretching back as far as 1990, a depth of content unrivalled by any other website in the UK construction sector.

“Our new search functionality should make life easier for our readers to find the information they need to do their jobs.

“The pace at which the AI summaries are improving is breathtaking and I’m blown away at how accurately they sum-up information on the search topic in an easily-digestible way.”

The new search function allows readers to toggle by relevance as well as date, and allows users to use Boolean search terms to refine their searches.

A new filtering system has also been added, allowing users to narrow their searches by topic and type of article.

The new search function has been developed in partnership with AI tech firm Miso.
