Paul Brown is set to become the new chair of Build UK following his nomination by the industry body’s board.

Brown, currently vice-chair of Build UK and chief executive of contractor John Sisk & Son, will succeed outgoing chair Julie White after the annual general meeting on 23 September.

He has been an advocate for industry innovation and collaboration and has promoted youth engagement and diversity within construction, Build UK said.

The organisation added that it was “looking forward” to Brown taking up his new role after the annual general meeting on 23 September.

Brown has been chief executive at Sisk since January 2022. His CV includes seven years as managing director of Balfour Beatty’s North West delivery unit (from 2006 to 2013), before an initial 11-month stint at Sisk as UK civils director.

He then moved to Warbeck Engineering & Construction as managing director before returning to Sisk in 2015, initially as civils managing director based in Manchester.

White has been chair of Build UK since September 2023 and a board member since 2015 when the organisation was established.

She is managing director at D-Drill Group and also serves on the Skills Mission Board, Industrial Strategy Forum and Small Business Council at the Department for Business and Trade.
