The winners of the annual CN Workforce Awards were announced tonight in a gala ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.

Categories showcased individual and organisational initiatives to improve employment practices and make construction a great industry to work in.

The night brought together the brightest workforce talent and recognised those making a difference in recruitment, staff development, wellbeing, diversity, inclusion and more.

Winners were recognised from a shortlist of 138 entries across 20 categories, with the chosen companies and individuals impressing a panel of 39 expert judges.

About 450 people attended the ceremony, which was hosted by CN deputy editor Ben Vogel.

“Tonight we celebrate the people driving construction forward – their talent, resilience and innovation continue to shape a stronger, more inclusive industry,” he said.

“The CN Workforce Awards showcase the very best in the sector – individuals and teams whose commitment and creativity define construction’s future success.”

Bam UK & Ireland and Balfour Beatty were the biggest winners on the night.

The former won in the Workforce Team of the Year, Apprenticeship Initiative of the Year and Mentor of the Year categories.

Balfour Beatty’s Eliza Butter picked up the Graduate of the Year trophy, and the firm’s HS2 joint venture with Vinci won both of the health and safety awards.

Renee Preston, chief executive of Gallaway Construction, received the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Leader of the Year award.
