Bowmer & Kirkland has acquired London-based office interiors specialist Denton as part of its strategy to expand in the commercial fit-out sector.

The move sees Denton, which marks its 30th year in business, join the privately owned Bowmer & Kirkland Group. The Derbyshire-based tier one contractor reported turnover of £1.25bn in its most recent accounts.

Founded in 1996, Denton has grown organically to a turnover of more than £40m, delivering CAT A, CAT A+ and CAT B fit-outs across the UK. The company has been owned and operated by its directors and employees since its formation.

The firm’s client list includes organisations as varied as Amnesty International, Bosch, Dell and Tesco.

Denton will continue to trade under its existing brand and leadership, with Bowmer & Kirkland providing financial backing and group-level support.

Bowmer & Kirkland said the acquisition forms part of a wider push to strengthen its interiors offering, and will enable Denton to take on larger and more complex schemes without changing its design-led operational model.

Mike Halewood, founder of Denton, hailed “a hugely exciting new chapter” for his company.

“Being acquired by Bowmer & Kirkland gives us the scale and stability to deliver even greater value for our clients,” he said.

Bowmer & Kirkland’s previous foray into the acquisitions market saw it buy HVAC contractor Adcock Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Ltd in April 2024.

Jack Kirkland, chair of Bowmer & Kirkland, said: “We are delighted to welcome Denton into the group. Their growth, creativity, and client focus align closely with our values.”
