The contract was enough to push the firm to the top of the league, the first time it has taken the number one spot.<\/p>\n<p>VolkerWessels managed to land four contracts worth \u00a3149.9m to take second place. The largest of these was a \u00a346.6m project to build a new 235,000 square foot logistics park for Mulberry Developments in Bedford. It\u2019s the company\u2019s highest position since December 2018 when it managed to top the league.<\/p>\n<p>McLaren took fifth spot with the month\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/contracts\/mclaren-lands-fresh-130m-wembley-park-deal-13-01-2020\/\">second-largest single job worth \u00a3130m<\/a>. The contractor has been chosen to deliver another section of Quintain\u2019s Wembley development. The latest win takes the total value of work won by McLaren at the site to \u00a3302m. Its high ranking in January comes as the firm revealed its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/mclaren-revenue-tops-650m-but-margins-slip-03-02-2020\/\">revenue hit a new record high last year at \u00a3650m<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Durkan secured its highest-ever ranking in January, taking sixth spot thanks to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/contracts\/durkan-wins-126m-thamesmead-development-06-02-2020\/\">job for housing association Peabody Trust valued at \u00a3126m<\/a>. The scheme will see Durkan continue the regeneration works for Peabody in South Thamesmead and will involve the building of more than 400 new homes.<\/p>\n<p>Countryside was in ninth place and made its first showing in the top 10 since 2013. The company, which works on residential developments, has been picked to deliver a redevelopment project for Waltham Forest Council. Around 500 homes will be built along with a new civic building in the London borough.<\/p>\n<p>On the rolling 12-month table, Morgan Sindall retook top spot having last sat there in October 2019. The company, which was number two in December, switched places with Balfour Beatty. Kier\u2019s 12-month total of \u00a31.47bn is its lowest since July 2016.<\/p>\n<p>While Kier moved down two spots, Royal Bam and ISG both moved up one each to fourth and fifth respectively.
