The largest of these was a \u00a3230m contract to build a new studio for Sky <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/green-light-for-bams-350m-manchester-arena-25-09-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at its site in Elstree, Hertfordshire (pictured),<\/a> which Legal &amp; General is funding. However, a raft of awards in September showed that clients are still keen to press on with high-end projects.<\/p>\n<p>Sir Robert McAlpine scored the largest office job of the month at 2 Finsbury Avenue for British Land, a project consisting of two towers \u2013 one of which will reach 47 storeys. It is also working for the client at the nearby Broadgate site. The \u00a3187.4m contract was enough to power the firm to fifth place.<\/p>\n<p>Not far behind in sixth was Multiplex, which was picked to deliver the \u00a3180m first phase of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/london-bankside-1bn-project-ramps-up-with-design-deals-12-05-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bankside Yards<\/a> scheme, on the south side of the Thames, for Native Land.<\/p>\n<p>Mace also landed a large London project in September with the \u00a3140m contract to deliver Charterhouse Place in Farringdon for Helical and Ashby Capital. The scheme was enough to give the company seventh place in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Away from the office market, VolkerWessels and Murphy shared a \u00a3215m contract to deliver a power supply upgrade for the East Coast Mainline. This put them in third and fourth place, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>September saw the value of work being awarded increase again. Across the top 50, \u00a33.39bn of contracts were signed.
