The single \u00a3507m job meant Skanska had the largest contract haul in March, according to data provided by construction intelligence provider Glenigan. It was far ahead of the \u00a33.74bn reported in February and a value last topped by the \u00a36.39bn won in February 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/construction-activity-grows-at-fastest-rate-in-seven-years-08-04-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PMI data for March<\/a> reflected the surge in activity on site, which was at a six-and-a-half-year-high, as well as new work won.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Sindall\u2019s 28 contracts was the highest total for a single from during the month, landing it fourth place. Its largest job was also a road project as the firm was picked to deliver the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/morgan-sindall\/morgan-sindall-picked-for-65m-link-road-22-03-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a365m Carlisle Southern Link Road<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Warehouse specialist Winvic placed fourth after it won contracts to develop two plots at Hoyland Common Business Park.<\/p>\n<p>TSL Projects, the industrial specialist working across the pharmaceutical, logistics and manufacturing sectors, took fifth spot, its highest ever placing in the table. It won six jobs worth \u00a3240.3m during the month, the largest of which was a \u00a3127.4m distribution for Lidl in Dunstable.<\/p>\n<p>Engie\u2019s sixth place was thanks to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/contracts\/engie-consortium-picked-for-200m-birmingham-uni-campus-05-03-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a3200m job it won in March<\/a> to deliver the Pritchetts Park student campus for Birmingham University. GMI Construction, seventh place, also won a \u00a3200m contract when it was appointed as main contractor on the Becketwell redevelopment project in Derby city centre.<\/p>\n<p>On the rolling 12-month total, Morgan Sindall and Kier were unmoved in first and second places respectively.
