The contract is set to be awarded next year.<\/p>\n<p>All three bidders have already landed major HS2 contracts. Laing O\u2019Rourke has been delivering enabling works with JV partner Murphy, which include installing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/hs2\/modular-bridge-over-m42-marks-hs2s-first-permanent-structure-10-08-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">modular bridge over the M42 and A465 to accommodate the new station at Solihull<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Skanska is delivering the \u00a32.3bn S1 and S2 sections in a JV with Costain and Strabag, and Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick are delivering the \u00a31.3bn C1 package as part of the Align consortium, which also includes Bouygues Travaux Publics.<\/p>\n<p>The Solihull station site covers 150 hectares and is bounded by the M42, A45 and A452. HS2 has made the station\u2019s green credentials a priority and claimed it will be the first railway station in the world to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding certification, putting it in the top 1 per cent of eco-friendly buildings in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>HS2 stations director Matthew Botelle said the shortlisting was a \u201cmajor milestone\u201d in the delivery of the stations. The interchange is the last of four stations on phase one to be awarded. Euston Station is being delivered by Mace\/Dragados, which is also delivering Curzon Street in Birmingham. The contract for Old Oak Common was awarded to the Balfour Beatty\/Vinci\/Systra JV.<\/p>\n<p>The Costain\/Skanska JV was shortlisted for the Euston Station contract, as was Lang O\u2019Rourke in a JV with Canary Wharf Contractors and MTR.
