Big names such as Kier, Wates and Morgan Sindall have secured spots on an \u00a3800m public sector building framework<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bam Construction, Bowmer & Kirkland, Brims Construction, Caddick Construction, Equans, Sir Robert McAlpine, Robertson and Tilbury Douglas are also among the 24 contractors \u2013 out of 34 proposed firms \u2013 to have been appointed to the Association of North East Councils’ construction works panel, which will be used nationwide.<\/p>\n

The selected firms \u2013 which include a number of smaller, regional contractors \u2013 will deliver a range of works over the next six years.\u00a0This could include new-build, extension, upgrade and refurbishment of buildings including schools, hospitals, libraries, social housing and civic facilities.<\/p>\n

Civil engineering and demolition works could be required on some projects, according to an official contract notice published online on 6 June.<\/p>\n

The framework is broken down into 10 lots, starting with small, hyper-local work and rising to national jobs of \u00a310m-plus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
