Multiplex has won a contract for 345 luxury apartments at the former BBC Television Centre site in west London.<\/p>\n

The job, understood to be worth \u00a3220m, will involve constructing two residential blocks designed by dRMM and Allford Hall Monagham Morris. Main construction work is expected to start next year and be complete by 2026.<\/p>\n

The work forms part of the second phase of the \u00a3500m redevelopment<\/a> of the White City site, which was sold in 2012 in a deal worth \u00a3200m. Japanese developer Mitsui Fudosan is partnering with Stanhope in the second phase, having bought Canada\u2019s AIMCo out of the project last year.<\/p>\n

The new phase will involve building more than 500 homes in four separate plots. This includes 142 affordable homes, which Kier<\/a> landed a contract to construct earlier this year. Topping out was recently completed for the new buildings, which are expected to be delivered in 2024.<\/p>\n

Stanhope property and commercial director Jonathan Trout said: \u201cWe are delighted to be working with Multiplex for the development of 345 new homes on this iconic site, which we expect to complete by 2026. The start of phase 2 demonstrates the commitment of Stanhope and Mitsui Fudosan to the delivery of much-needed new housing, including affordable, in Hammersmith & Fulham and our long-term commitment to the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tomoo Nakamura, chief executive of Mitsui Fudosan UK said: \u201cWe are delighted to announce our appointment of Multiplex and we look forward to working with them to bring forward the procurement of phase 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the sole owners of phase 2 we are also delighted to be able to continue to collaborate with Stanhope as development manager for the delivery of 345 new apartments.\u201d<\/p>\n
