Wates once again has a female board member, after appointing a finance expert as a non-executive director.<\/p>\n
Chartered accountant Rachel Addison (pictured) will chair Wates\u2019 group audit committee, overseeing financial reporting, processes and regulatory compliance. Addison is already a non-executive director of a handful of other companies, including housing developer and contractor Watkins Jones.<\/p>\n
She has previously served as chief financial officer at media companies Future plc and TI Media, as well as managing director at newspaper operator Reach Regionals and head of risk management at pharmacist Boots.<\/p>\n
Addison joins 10 existing directors on the Wates board \u2013 all of which are men, and five of whom are part of the Wates family. Wates also has a separate executive committee, which currently comprises 11 directors, 10 of which are men (see full lists below<\/em>).<\/p>\n Wates has previously had two other women on its board: former Kier chief financial officer Deena Mattar and former M&S group treasurer Sue Harris.<\/p>\n Wates chairman Tim Wates said: \u201cWe\u2019re very pleased to welcome Rachel to the Wates group board and I am looking forward to working with her.
