Multiplex topped the contracts league table for the first time in more than two-and-a-half years in September, thanks to two London wins, according to data compiled by construction intelligence provider Glenigan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Australian multinational landed the \u00a3450m main contract for the super-prime St John\u2019s Wood Square project, which involves demolition of a former barracks and construction of 179 homes.<\/p>\n

The project, due to start next year and be completed in 2026, will include a swimming pool delivered inside a listed riding-school building and new public realm.<\/p>\n

Multiplex was also confirmed on the \u00a3200m One Exchange Square project (pictured) in Bishopsgate in September. The firm was first linked to the project in February<\/a>, which involves refurbishing and extending a 13-storey building while retaining 90 per cent of its structure.<\/p>\n

The client on the job is LaSalle Investment Management, on behalf of Malaysian fund Permodalan Nasional Berhad.<\/p>\n

Multiplex last topped the Glenigan-compiled table in February 2021<\/a>, when it also landed two large deals.<\/p>\n

ISG had a strong month too, coming in second with \u00a3309.6m earned from four contracts, including a \u00a3150m fit-out at Google\u2019s offices in King\u2019s Cross.<\/p>\n

Morgan Sindall was in third place, thanks to 27 different contracts worth a combined \u00a3165.6m.<\/p>\n

Fourth-placed RG Group landed the biggest single deal outside the capital in September, with a \u00a3135m contract for the Cirrus Point student-accommodation scheme in Leeds.<\/p>\n

The Kent-headquartered company was the only contractor that made the top 10 in both September and August, when it was in sixth place<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Morgan Sindall remained in first place in the rolling annual table of contractors, with a total of \u00a32.06bn from 323 contracts, keeping it ahead of Balfour Beatty, which earned \u00a32.05bn, from 51 deals.<\/p>\n

Kier, which had topped the rolling annual table for a year until last month, dropped down to sixth place from fifth, falling behind Royal Bam.<\/p>\n

Winvic and ISG climbed back into the top 10, in ninth and tenth place respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
