Wates Construction managing director Mark Tant has left the firm after five years at the helm.<\/span><\/p>\n

His role will be taken over on an interim basis by Steffan Battle, former group head of pre-construction, who has been with Wates for almost 30 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wates did not comment on the reason for Tant\u2019s departure but said he had been instrumental in the firm\u2019s success over the past nine years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe made a significant contribution to the development and success of the construction business during this period, and we wish him the best for the future,\u201d a spokesperson said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tant was appointed to lead Wates\u2019 London residential work in 2014, managing high-profile jobs at Wembley for Quintain and at Greenwich Peninsula for Knight Dragon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Five years later, he<\/span> took over the newly created role of managing director of Wates Construction<\/span><\/a>, as part of a leadership reshuffle.<\/span><\/p>\n

That position, reporting to construction group managing director Paul Chandler, saw him take responsibility for overseeing regional business units within the group.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to that, he served as managing director of Shepherd Construction for almost three years following a 13-year spell in senior roles at Willmott Dixon.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
