Morgan Sindall expects its full-year results to be \u201csignificantly ahead\u201d of previous projections, on the back of the robust performance of its fit-out and construction divisions.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a trading update, the group, which ranks second in the<\/span> CN100 index<\/span><\/a>, said strong fit-out trading activity at the start of the year had been sustained, providing increased visibility for the rest of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, the division\u2019s profit was likely to significantly exceed prior expectations, it said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Profit at the group\u2019s construction arm would also be above predicted levels, with revenues higher than expected and the operating margin for the year due to sit in the middle of its medium-term target range of 3 per cent to 3.5 per cent.<\/span><\/p>\n

All other divisions remained on track to perform in line with previous expectations, chief financial officer Kelly Gangotra said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cConsequently, group profit before taxation is now expected to be significantly ahead of previous expectations,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Morgan Sindall<\/span> tops the monthly contracts league table<\/span><\/a>, having taken 18 jobs during May worth a combined \u00a3619.6m, outstripping its nearest rival by more than \u00a3200m.<\/span><\/p>\n

The firm\u2019s biggest contract was for a \u00a3130m <\/span>revamp of the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace<\/span><\/a> for the Greater London Authority.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also<\/span> took over the rebuilding of a primary school in York<\/span><\/a>, where work had stalled following the collapse of the project\u2019s previous contractor, ISG.<\/span><\/p>\n
