Galliford Try has said it expects its full-year 2025 financial performance to be ahead of expectations, driven by lucrative roads and water projects.<\/p>\n

In a trading update to the London Stock Exchange this morning (9 July), the tier one contractor said that a \u201cstrong performance\u201d in its interim results<\/a> continued into the second half of its financial year, which ended on 30 June.<\/p>\n

Framework wins and \u201csolid highways delivery\u201d prompted Galliford Try<\/a> to predict that full-year revenue and pre-tax profit will be \u201cslightly above the upper end of current analyst forecasts\u201d.<\/p>\n

These range from \u00a31.86bn to \u00a31.89bn for revenue and \u00a340.1m to \u00a341.6m for adjusted pre-tax profit, the contractor said.<\/p>\n

Work won so far this year included a place on the \u00a31bn NEPO Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Works Framework, Yorkshire Water\u2019s \u00a3850m Non-Infrastructure Works Framework (part of AMP8), and Pagabo\u2019s \u00a3814m Total Facilities Management Framework.<\/p>\n

Galliford Try also reported fire safety improvement jobs for the Ministry of Justice at HMP Wakefield (\u00a344.5m) and HMP Moorland (\u00a356m), plus a \u00a363m contract to deliver accommodation at RAF Digby in Lincolnshire.<\/p>\n

Chief executive Bill Hocking said: \u201cAs a UK-only contractor, our confidence in the future is supported by our high-quality order book as well as a long-term pipeline of future opportunities in key sectors as supported by the investment proposals in last month\u2019s Spending Review<\/a> and UK Infrastructure Strategy plans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Galliford Try reported turnover of \u00a31.77bn, a pre-tax profit of \u00a330.9m and a margin of 1.7 per cent in its most recent full-year results for the year to 30 June 2024, which were published in October last year.<\/p>\n

The contractor said that stronger trading was now \u201cexpected to deliver further margin progression towards our 2030 sustainable margin target of 4 per cent and previously communicated margin target of 3 per cent in 2026\u201d.<\/p>\n

It reported no pension liabilities or bank debt in the latest trading update, and the firm had not accessed its revolving credit facility.<\/p>\n

Market analysts Cavendish said: \u201cNet cash of \u00a3238m [at year-end] is ahead of our forecast \u00a3230m.\u201d<\/p>\n

This was \u201csupported by a 15 per cent increase in average month-end net cash to \u00a3178m driven by positive trading and tight working capital management\u201d, it added.<\/p>\n

Galliford Try reported a \u201crobust order book\u201d of \u00a34.1bn at 30 June 2025, higher than the previous year\u2019s \u00a33.8bn, \u201cwith excellent visibility of long-term future workload\u201d.<\/p>\n

The contractor added that it had already secured 90 per cent of targeted revenue for the next financial year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe group continues to see a strong pipeline of new opportunities across its chosen sectors,\u201d Cavendish said, noting \u201cthe positive backdrop of the government\u2019s commitment to invest in improving the UK\u2019s social and economic\u00a0 infrastructure and affordable\u00a0 housing\u201d.<\/p>\n

Galliford Try\u2019s share price stood at 434p at noon today, up from 430p when trading opened.<\/p>\n
