Graham has been appointed to deliver infrastructure works for the Central Docks neighbourhood within Peel Waters\u2019 \u00a35bn Liverpool Waters development.<\/p>\n
The firm will act as principal contractor on the design-and-construct contract, covering roads, underground utilities and public realm across the 10.5-hectare site.<\/p>\n
Central Docks is the largest brownfield plot in Liverpool and the biggest of five neighbourhoods planned within the wider scheme.<\/p>\n
The works are intended to unlock land for around 2,350 new homes as part of Peel Waters\u2019 masterplan and in support of government targets to deliver 1.5 million new homes nationally by 2030.<\/p>\n
The job includes delivery of the planned 2.1-hectare Central Park, which will be planted with hundreds of trees and include sports and leisure amenities. It will be one of Liverpool\u2019s largest green spaces once complete.<\/p>\n
The contract was procured via Pagabo\u2019s Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Framework, which is managed by QE Facilities.<\/p>\n
Early works, including preconstruction, design and mobilisation, are due to begin in August, with site clearance and remediation scheduled for later in the year.<\/p>\n
Graham contracts director Alastair Lewis said the scheme would support regeneration of the city\u2019s northern docklands and had sustainability and community integration at its core.<\/p>\n
Peel Waters managing director James Whittaker said Graham’s appointment followed previous collaborations on schemes including the Millers Quay development at Wirral Waters, also part of the Peel Waters portfolio.<\/p>\n
He said the move brought the company \u201ccloser to breaking ground\u201d on further development plots at Central Docks.<\/p>\n
