{"id":533013,"date":"2025-11-20T10:11:51","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T10:11:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/?p=533013"},"modified":"2025-11-20T10:15:17","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T10:15:17","slug":"mclaren-and-heim-back-second-birmingham-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contracts\/mclaren-and-heim-back-second-birmingham-scheme-20-11-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Winvic wins Birmingham build-to-rent job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"52\" data-end=\"193\">McLaren Living and Heim Global Investor have appointed Winvic as contractor on a \u00a3130m build-to-rent scheme in central Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"195\" data-end=\"450\">The development, named Oasis, will deliver 456 one- and two-bedroom homes on Kent Street, close to Birmingham\u2019s cultural quarter.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"195\" data-end=\"450\">It will also feature a gym, residents\u2019 lounge, co-working areas, and external landscaping including a courtyard and terraces.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"635\">McLaren Living is acting as developer, with Winvic Construction appointed as contractor.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"635\">The scheme received planning permission in September 2022 and is being forward funded by Heim.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"790\">The partners previously teamed up on a 375-home build-to-rent scheme in Leeds\u2019 South Bank, currently under construction and expected to complete in 2027.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"792\" data-end=\"916\">Oasis will be built to Heim\u2019s sustainability criteria, which helped its UK Residential Fund secure a five-star GRESB rating.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"1125\">McLaren Living managing director Matthew Biddle said the scheme would enhance the company\u2019s pipeline in key urban markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"1125\">Heim director David Peacock said the investment aligned with the fund\u2019s UK strategy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1295\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The project sits within an area undergoing extensive regeneration.
