Bovis has reached the summit in the last monthly league table of 2025, thanks to a \u00a3176.6m job to revamp a Gloucestershire barracks.<\/p>\n

It needed just one job at the Duke of Gloucester Barracks to take the gold medal in December, according to construction data provider Glenigan.<\/p>\n

The design-and-build contract pushed Bovis more than \u00a380m above its nearest challenger as it reclaimed the top spot, which it previously took in October<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The UK\u2019s 46th<\/sup> biggest contractor<\/a> will revamp the site of the British Army\u2019s<\/a> 104 Theatre Sustainment Brigade headquarters and 29 Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps \u2014 including its component squadrons and the tri-service Joint Air Mounting Centre.<\/p>\n

The \u00a3470m-turnover contractor \u2013 which was rebranded as Bovis after US private equity<\/a> firm Atlas Holdings purchased Lendlease\u2019s UK contracting business in March \u2013 will deliver the redevelopment under the Defence Estate Optimisation (DEO) programme, which is overseen by the Ministry of Defence\u2019s Defence Infrastructure Organisation.<\/p>\n

Bovis also had defence projects to thank for its gold medal in October, when it won a \u00a3237m contract to deliver new and refurbished accommodation<\/a>, medical and catering facilities at Kendrew Barracks and to provide offices, storage and a band practice facility at Bulwell Army Reserve Centre.<\/p>\n

There was also good news for 8Build, which claimed its first-ever position in the monthly top 10 since Construction News <\/em>began producing the league tables in February 2011.<\/p>\n

The fit-out specialist grabbed the silver medal position with with a total of 14 jobs worth \u00a394.3m.<\/p>\n

The biggest of those was a \u00a325.6m contract at 7 Burlington Gardens, Westminster, according to Glenigan. The project will involve converting the site into a gallery space with an ancillary restaurant and bar.<\/p>\n

Just \u00a31.5m separated 8Build from third-placed Winvic, which picked up \u00a392.8m of new contracts in December across four projects \u2013 the biggest being a \u00a349.3m factory job at Sawley Interchange, Leicestershire.<\/p>\n

The contractor will be responsible for a host of services at the site including ancillary offices, car parking, landscaping and service yard areas.<\/p>\n

Winvic has long been in the industrial sector, and has built more than 110 million square feet of industrial space in the 24 years<\/a> since it was founded, according to a statement from September.<\/p>\n

Fourth-placed Robertson returned to the league tables after an 11-month absence. In total, it scooped four jobs in December with a total value of \u00a386.2m.<\/p>\n

The biggest of the bunch was a \u00a371m job to build Peterhead Community Campus on the site of Peterhead Academy in Aberdeenshire.<\/p>\n

The new campus will serve 1,400 academy pupils but will also have facilities including a theatre and swimming pool, across a 30-acre site.<\/p>\n

Construction work is set to start next April, with completion expected in August 2028.<\/p>\n

Graham also benefited from a substantial project in the education space, leaping into sixth spot after a month outside the top 10\u00a0after it scooped a \u00a359m job to deliver student accommodation<\/a> at Loughborough University.<\/p>\n

The firm will create 552 en-suite, self-catered bedrooms across five accommodation blocks, rising up to six storeys.<\/p>\n

Graham expects to begin work early this year and complete it by the end of summer 2027, ready for the next academic year.<\/p>\n

In total, the firm scooped five jobs with a combined value of \u00a377.9m \u2013 the vast majority of which was in the building sector. Just \u00a34.5m of that was civils work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Strabag kept its gold medal atop the rolling annual league table for the fifth month running. In total, it scooped five jobs between January and December, worth \u00a32.93bn. That left it about \u00a3400m in front of its nearest competitor Mace, which rose three places on the back of 17 deals worth a combined \u00a32.49bn.<\/p>\n

Kier and Morgan Sindall each fell a spot to third and fourth, winning \u00a32.35bn and \u00a32.27bn worth of work in 2025 respectively.<\/p>\n

Bowmer & Kirkland moved up one place into fifth, with 35 jobs worth \u00a31.59bn.<\/p>\n

Laing O\u2019Rourke also moved up a place into sixth spot. It scooped ten jobs in the year worth a combined \u00a31.32bn.<\/p>\n

Seventh-placed Bovis picked up 10 jobs in 2025 worth a combined \u00a31.28bn.<\/p>\n

McLaren took ninth spot after three months out. In total it scooped 17 jobs in 2025 worth a combined \u00a31.05bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
