{"id":536192,"date":"2026-01-16T09:09:49","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T09:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/?p=536192"},"modified":"2026-01-16T09:09:49","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T09:09:49","slug":"brown-appointed-to-lead-scaffolding-bodies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/peoplemoves\/brown-appointed-to-lead-scaffolding-bodies-16-01-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Brown appointed to lead scaffolding bodies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"84\" data-end=\"312\">David Brown has been confirmed as the new chair and interim president of both the National Access &amp; Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) and the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS), following the death of Wayne Connolly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"581\">Brown, the immediate past chair of both organisations, has resumed the leadership roles in line with pre-agreed governance arrangements.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"581\">He will remain chair until June 2028 when an independent chair is due to be appointed under a long-term governance transition plan, the NASC said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"724\">CISRS vice-president Sarah Klieve is scheduled to succeed Brown as the organisations\u2019 president in June.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"726\" data-end=\"1014\">The NASC and CISRS boards said the transition periods aim to maintain \u201ccontinuity and stability\u201d and to honour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/supply-chain\/platform-for-change-connollys-scaffolding-mission-19-09-2025\/\">Connolly\u2019s vision<\/a> for stronger, more transparent governance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"726\" data-end=\"1014\">The governance review includes plans to bolster independence and representation across both organisations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1016\" data-end=\"1272\">Brown said: \u201cWayne was an exceptional leader who cared deeply about this industry and about doing the right thing for its future.
