Wates will cover the north and south of the city, while Mears will be responsible for homes in the central and west areas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"1006\">The appointment follows a procurement process shaped by tenant feedback and will support the council\u2019s \u00a3200m-a-year housing investment programme.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"1006\">New digital systems will be introduced to track property condition, improve communication with tenants and allow greater flexibility in scheduling appointments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1008\" data-end=\"1294\">Birmingham City Council cabinet member for housing and homelessness Nicky Brennan said the new model would help deliver \u201ca more flexible and responsive service\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1689\">Equans has been a strategic partner of the council since 2015.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2027\" data-end=\"2198\">Jake Fellows, regional managing director at Equans UK &amp; Ireland, said the 10-year extension recognised \u201cthe success of our relationship and high-quality service delivery\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2386\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The new contracts are expected to help the council meet the Government\u2019s Decent Homes Standard by 2032.
